Rock Band Class: This class is open to guitarist, bassist, drummers, keyboardist, and vocalist of all levels. Students will be grouped together according to age and skill level. Students will rehearse songs and learn the fundamentals of playing and performing in a rock band. All Rock Band Classes will have an opportunity to perform live.

Rock Band Classes are reinforced through private lessons. Students must be enrolled in private lessons or have permission from the instructor to sign up for this course. All students must register with The Kenosha Conservatory of Music to enroll in this class. Students of any instructor or music school are welcome.

All students will begin in our group class on Saturday at 10:00am. As students become ready we will form them into bands. Each band will be assigned a weekly rehearsal time (Saturdays 9:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm etc) and begin practicing for the next performance.

Bands will be working on mastering at least one song for the performance. Students will work at their own pace and will only perform songs that are ready. It is recommended that students continue in the Rock Band Class year round.  Continuing students will learn a larger repertoire of songs and have more performance opportunities throughout the year.

Students may enroll at any time during the class year.

Next Rock Band Class Concert: Will be posted in the monthly news letter.

Suzuki Stings

Suzuki Strings: Oh – why, Japanese children can all speak Japanese!" "In fact, all children throughout the world speak their native tongues with the utmost fluency."  This observation by Shinichi Suzuki prompted him to create the Suzuki Violin Method.  It was his conviction that all children are born with an innate ability, if only it is properly nurtured and trained, that can enable them to be successful at anything.  His method sparks this ability and teaches us how to establish a positive environment in which children can thrive.  By using the violin as a medium, every child can learn to play at a high level, but he will also discover endless possibilities in himself as a successful person.

       - Shinichi Suzuki, Nurtured by Love (Miami: Summy Birchard, Inc, 1983),1.

Traditional Violin Lessons

Traditional instruction varies from Suzuki lessons in that students can begin at an older age, are more independent in their practice responsibilities, and learn to read music sooner in their musical development.  Traditional lessons are suited best for students that will be in an orchestra before middle or high school, more advanced students who are looking to take lessons to help them develop their technique, or adult students who want try something new.  Students can study a wide range of music from fiddle, to classical, to folk, to religious, and everything in between.

Suzuki Strings starts with private lessons with the instructor. Cost is a flat rate of $80.00 per month. Once students move forward in the program the instructor will set up group lessons. Group lesson fees may vary. Please contact us for more information.

All Suzuki Strings fees are paid to the Kenosha Conservatory of Music on a monthly basis due before the 7th day of each new month..

Flex Scheduling for Private Lessons:

Flex Scheduling is a new scheduling concept for current and new students that are taking private lessons and are extremely busy with sports, school and other weekly activities. Flex Scheduling allows students to pre-pay for 8, 12, or 16 lessons, and schedule private lessons at their convenience.

Students will receive a punch card with the number of private lessons to be scheduled during a specific time. Example: 12 lessons - June 1st thru August 31st. Students can then call and schedule private lessons with their instructor before the final expiration date.

Policy information:

Flex Scheduling for Private Lessons will only be valid before the expiration date on each purchase. Expiration dates are based on the number of private lessons purchased. Example: 8 lessons = 2 months, 12 lessons = 3 months, 16 lessons = 4 months.

Students are recommended to schedule lessons on a regular basis throughout this period. Once the program reaches the final month, students will only be allowed to schedule a maximum of two lessons per week with their instructor.

Please refer to our Private Lessons Policy for detailed information regarding registration, attendance and cancelations.
